Job Title:

Lab Technician

• Construction Materials (SEASONAL)

Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for learning test methods, specifications and reporting of findings related to various materials used in the day to day operations of the company. These will include but not be limited to asphalt binder, asphalt emulsions, aggregates and bituminous mixtures.

Safety Expectations:

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

Perform routine daily testing of material Grab samples from Raw and Finished product tanks Perform required testing on materials and record the results Enter Production on Enterprise and or on Excel Mix various stone with product Helping in the plant with production Helping load/unload tankers Painting, sweeping, moping, shoveling, scraping ect... Clear and concise reporting of all findings to immediate supervisor Maintain a clean and safe work environment Help in the Plant/Yard during startup/shut down and down times

Required Skills/Abilities :

Strong work ethic Strong attention to detail Good time management skills Attendance is "highly critical"

FLEXIBILTY

• Overtime and weekend hours are anticipated and with minimal notice Travel throughout NY and PA sometimes required.

Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted Consent to a DMV license evaluation Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10

Hour Safety Certificate Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Associates degree in Engineering Science or Construction Technology Ability to read and understand SDS Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
