Job Description
  • Performance of tasks in an R D laboratory environment, may include sample preparation, physical testing, and chemical testing. This role will be heavily focused on chemical testing in an analytical lab.
  • Responsible for chemical analyses utilizing specialized equipment/instrumentation.
  • Will maintain and improve safety, quality and productivity levels.
  • Learn and consistently demonstrate proficiency in skill sets within and potentially outside the normal work area.
  • Proactive identification and communication of safety or quality issues to management.
  • Ability to complete tasks under minimal supervision. The Teammate in this position will work toward meeting or exceeding the needs of customers through laboratory level rubber processing and testing. The ideal candidate will be energetic and team focused, while delivering high-quality results in a timely fashion in a challenging environment.
  • Follow all safety and quality processes/policies/laws
  • Handle and weigh raw materials using analytical techniques
  • Potentially stand most of the workday
  • Potentially lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Use rubber Banbury mixers and mills to produce rubber compounds
  • Use general hand tools/knives to prepare rubber specimens
  • Use various laboratory rubber processing and testing equipment
  • Grasp concepts presented within a reasonable timeframe
  • Work with chemicals and in areas that may have nuisance fumes, dust, heat and noise

  • 2-year associate's degree in chemistry or science field; strong preference for bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, email and web
  • based navigation.
  • 1-2 analytical chemistry experience
  • 4 years of relevant experience or 2-year degree + 2 years of relevant experience
