Non-Registered Polysomnographic Technician

Bath Health's Sleep Disorders Center, accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, provides polysomnographic tests, or sleep study evaluations, performed by Registered Sleep Technicians. Sleep studies are monitored by Registered Sleep Technicians and then reviewed and interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician. A caregiver in this position works nights shifts from Sunday through Friday, 6:30pm to 7:00am on 3 12-hr days. No holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Prepare patients and equipment for ordered testing. Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures. Perform and document testing. Monitor patients throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues under minimal supervision. Score, interpret and report results of sleep studies. Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs/replacements. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross One year polysomnographic testing and scoring experience on the job or through clinical. One year of EEG, Respiratory Therapy or Healthcare related experience may substitute Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Completion of an A Step Program Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 18 months of employment

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients. Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:

$20.77 Maximum hourly: $31.68 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
