Job Description

We are hiring a Technician I to join our Necropsy team at our Safety Assessment site in Ashland, Ohio. This is an entry-level role with training provided, ideal for candidates interested in laboratory work, animal science, or research. Schedule 4-day workweek (10-hour shifts) Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Rotating weekends and holidays required Overtime may be required What You'll Do In this training role, you'll learn and support essential lab and study activities, including: Animal handling, sedation, and humane euthanasia Basic dissection and necropsy procedures Sample and data collection (weights, tissues) Lab setup, cleaning, and preparation of solutions Documentation and data entry (paper and electronic systems) Equipment use, maintenance, and tracking samples Following safety, quality, and regulatory standards (GLP, SOPs) You'll work under close supervision while building skills and progressing through structured training. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED (preferred) No prior experience required - training provided Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Good communication and teamwork skills Additional Requirements Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available) Commitment to safety, compliance, and animal welfare Physical & Work Environment Lift/move up to 50 lbs Stand or sit for extended periods Work in a laboratory setting with: PPE required Exposure to chemicals, biological materials, and odors Use of sharp instruments and lab equipment

From $19.00 per hour
