Job Title:
Quality Control Lab Technician Job Description The Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician supports routine laboratory testing to enable the release of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples. The technician performs all testing in accordance with approved procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable regulatory requirements while upholding data integrity and laboratory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to products that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Responsibilities Prepare solutions for chemical and physical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Accurately document laboratory activities, test results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and other required records. Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including balances, pH meters, and other analytical equipment as applicable. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of materials in accordance with GMP requirements. Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies, chemicals, standards, and reagents to ensure adequate stock and proper handling. Follow all safety procedures, environmental requirements, and company policies while performing laboratory tasks. Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections by providing documentation, explanations of methods, and demonstrations of laboratory practices as needed. Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines. Collaborate with colleagues to resolve laboratory issues and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes. Essential Skills Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline. 0-1 year of laboratory experience in a scientific or quality control setting (laboratory experience preferred). Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and working in a GMP-regulated environment (experience preferred). Ability to perform routine laboratory techniques and handle laboratory equipment safely and accurately. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and data integrity. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple samples, tests, and documentation requirements. Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with team members. Demonstrated problem-solving skills to troubleshoot basic laboratory issues and equipment problems. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a laboratory team. Ability to stand for extended periods while performing laboratory work. Ability to lift and carry laboratory supplies up to 25 pounds. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for laboratory operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, and other analytical equipment. Experience documenting laboratory work in notebooks or electronic systems in compliance with quality standards. Experience working under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines. Demonstrated motivation to excel and a strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Comfort working with chemicals, reagents, and standards under defined safety protocols. Work Environment This position is based in a laboratory environment on a day shift schedule, starting at 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves standing for extended periods while performing laboratory tasks, regularly handling laboratory supplies and materials up to 25 pounds, and working with a variety of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment. The technician works under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), following Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and may include lab coats, safety glasses, gloves, and other protective gear appropriate to the tasks being performed. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, adherence to regulatory requirements, and a strong culture of safety and quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
