Chemical Solvents Inc. has thrived for over 50 years in the Cleveland area providing commodity chemicals and blending services to a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to, construction, manufacturing, and specialty chemicals. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team. The Laboratory Technician, under the direction of the Laboratory Management, will perform in all areas of the laboratory and assist in ensuring that CSI handles hazardous chemicals in a safe manner by correctly analyzing and characterizing waste, unknown and sales samples. The Laboratory Technician will adhere to company and OSHA safety policies and procedures as well as adhere to all regulatory requirements. This position is an essential part of the team and is relied upon to drive cultural focus on safety and delivering quality materials to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize, label, and maintain Quality Control retain samples using a rotation system to ensure traceability and proper storage. Prepare and package sales samples in accordance with customer requests, internal procedures, and established timelines under the direction of the Technical Director. Perform quality control tests on sales samples and assist in maintaining overall quality standards. Monitor retain sample inventory and dispose of expired samples according to established procedures. Collect, segregate, label, store, and coordinate the removal and disposal of laboratory hazardous waste in compliance with company policies and applicable environmental regulations. Retrieve returned material samples and associated documentation for laboratory evaluation and perform testing to support quality investigations, customer complaints and corrective actions. Maintain a clean work environment while adhering to proper safety and housekeeping practices. Assist Quality Control, R & D, and manufacturing operations as needed. Ensure personal compliance with Company, EPA, OSHA, and all other required safety policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities Required:
High school diploma or GED required. Higher education and/or laboratory work experience strongly preferred. Experience with ERP software (Datacor C/S) a plus. Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Understand basic OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Excellent computer skills with proficiency with the Microsoft software suite, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Self-motivated, with excellent detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Must be able to move / carry a 5-gallon pail (~ 50 lb.)
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
