Senior Technician, Microbiology Lab The J.M. Smucker Company United States, Ohio, Cleveland May 23, 2026 Your Opportunity as a Senior Technician, Microbiology Lab This role supports the plants and R D by performing microbiological testing and reporting results
Location:
Orrville, OH (close proximity to Akron and Cleveland)
Work Arrangements:
100% on-site Typical schedule: 8-hour workdays, Monday - Friday between 7am - 6pm utilizing company flex hours while meeting business needs Ability to work a minimum of 1 assigned company holiday per year (could be 1-3 days during holiday week for 1-2 hours each day and/or if a holiday falls on a Sunday if there is a rotation) Flexibility to work weekend work hours if there is a rotation In this
Role You Will:
Perform routine microbiological testing & report results Maintain International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025 accredited methods Follow good laboratory and safety practices Prepare laboratory reagents Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment records, and methods Maintain and calibrate lab equipment Perform general laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and ordering supplies Support laboratory projects Communicate with customers to coordinate testing related to microbiological testing procedures Provide support to the Analytical Lab as needed What We are

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree General laboratory experience Strong communication skills (written and oral)and customer service communication skills Good computer skills, including familiarity with a Laboratory Management System (LMS) Strong time management skills with attention to detail Highly adaptable and flexible to a dynamic environment Self-motivated, high-energy level, positive attitude Ability to stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
