Lab Technician Location:
Columbus, OH 43204
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Day Shift (occasional rotating weekend day as needed)

What You'll Do As a Lab Technician, you'll play an important role in preparing and processing samples for microbiological testing while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare samples by recording, weighing, blending, and labeling them for analysis. Pipette sample solutions into tubes and plates according to testing procedures. Prepare agar, media, and broth used in microbiological and pathogen testing. Set up laboratory equipment and ensure materials are ready for testing. Incubate samples following required time and temperature specifications. Read plates and tubes to determine microorganism counts as required. Enter and maintain accurate data using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized laboratory environment. Participate in laboratory cleaning schedules and retain sample management. Follow all laboratory safety procedures and company policies. Assist with other laboratory duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of laboratory experience required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field preferred.
Ideal Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Basic science knowledge and analytical thinking. Comfortable using computers and data entry systems. Ability to follow standardized procedures accurately. Excellent time management and teamwork skills. Manual dexterity for handling laboratory samples and equipment. Physical & Work Environment This position is performed in a laboratory setting with controlled lighting and temperature.
Applicants should be able to:
Stand for extended periods. Lift up to 50 pounds. Wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, lab coat, and safety glasses. Work around laboratory chemicals and equipment safely. Distinguish slight variations in color when performing testing procedures.
