Job Description

Sample Receiving Technician Columbus, OH | Full-Time | $19.50/hour + Benefits Help Protect Public Health Every Day Are you organized, detail-oriented, and looking for a career where your work makes a real difference? Join our team as a Sample Receiving Technician and play a critical role in supporting food safety and public health. Schedule Tuesday-Saturday Rotating start times between 7:00 AM-10:00 AM Approximately 8-hour shifts Sunday rotation required after training What You'll Do As a Sample Receiving Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring samples are accurately received, documented, and prepared for laboratory testing.
Responsibilities include:
Receive, inspect, and log incoming samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Review documentation and assign appropriate sample identification and test codes Communicate with clients to clarify missing or incomplete sample information Maintain sample integrity through proper storage and handling Prepare outgoing shipments for vendors and other testing laboratories Complete and maintain accurate shipping and laboratory documentation Assist with customized client reports as needed Support laboratory staff with sample preparation and analysis when required Follow quality assurance procedures and document any quality system deviations Perform other related duties to support laboratory operations
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant work experience , OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree
Preferred Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable working with computers and data entry Excellent time management and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced laboratory environment Basic knowledge of microbiology or chemistry is a plus, but not required General office and administrative skills
