Job Description

Flint Group is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Research & Development team in West Chester, Ohio. In this role, you'll develop and test waterborne flexographic and gravure inks and coatings for a wide range of packaging applications. You will work closely with a global R D team, collaborating across technical, sales, and customer support functions to deliver innovative, high-performance ink and coating solutions. This position offers a great opportunity for an experienced formulator who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment.
Job Responsibilities Formulate and test inks and coatings to meet customer and market requirements.
Evaluate product performance and document results in technical reports.
Support customer press trials and troubleshoot on-press performance.
Collaborate with suppliers on innovation, materials, and pricing.
Maintain lab equipment and ensure accurate calibration records.
Develop technical data sheets with Product Management and Marketing.
Train lab associates on testing methods and project priorities.
Promote Flint Group's strong safety culture in all lab operations. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience developing inks and coatings (preferred).
Strong understanding of flexographic printing and color management.
Familiarity with standard tests such as Sutherland rub, COF, and lightfastness.
Experience with regulated applications (Direct/Indirect Food Contact) is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.
