Actalent is seeking a Laboratory Technician with expertise in data collection and interpretation to perform routine chemical testing of samples in a laboratory setting. You will be joining a pioneering leader in the exhaust emission and metals recycling industry. This position is based in Hebron, OH. They are a small, family-owned company. They have a close knit team in the lab - casual/laid back environment. Responsibilities Document each sample accurately and thoroughly, ensuring complete and reliable records of all testing activities. Follow established written procedures and standard operating protocols for all laboratory tests and processes. Maintain, calibrate, and operate analytical instruments, including XRF (X-ray fluorescence) and ICP (inductively coupled plasma) equipment. Prepare chemical solutions used in testing using analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric glassware. Clean and maintain laboratory glassware to ensure accurate results and efficient laboratory operations. Keep workspaces clean, safe, and organized in accordance with laboratory standards and safety guidelines. Track and manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, consumables, and supplies, to support continuous operations. Apply lab safety principles and good laboratory practices in daily work. Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Essential Skills Hands-on laboratory experience in chemistry or a related scientific discipline. Experience with data collection and interpretation in a laboratory setting. Ability to operate, maintain, and calibrate analytical instruments such as XRF and ICP. Proficiency in preparing chemical solutions using analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric glassware. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample documentation and record keeping. Familiarity with lab safety standards and good laboratory practices. Ability to follow written procedures and standard operating protocols. Organizational skills to maintain clean, safe, and orderly workspaces and manage inventory. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree highly preferred in a science-related field such as Biology, Physics, or Chemistry. Associate's degree in a science-related field considered. Comfort working in a wet lab environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit laboratory team. Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and report findings clearly. Work Environment This position is based in a wet laboratory environment operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You work as part of a small, family-oriented organization with a close-knit team in the lab. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality. You regularly use analytical instruments such as XRF and ICP, as well as standard laboratory equipment including analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric glassware. The role involves standing at lab benches, handling chemicals and samples, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
