Full Job Description Laboratory Technician II Department:
Laboratory Analytical Services Status:
Full-Time, 2nd Shift 3:30pm - 11:30pm Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To:
Laboratory Supervisor About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician II to perform analytical testing that supports the reliability and longevity of electrical equipment. In this role, you'll conduct chemical analyses on insulating liquids, ensure accurate data reporting, and contribute to a safe, efficient, and team-focused laboratory environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on lab experience who enjoys problem-solving, working with instrumentation, and making a meaningful impact through quality results. What You'll Do Perform routine laboratory testing following established procedures and standards Ensure all work meets quality and accuracy requirements Prioritize and process samples based on service level and receipt date Accurately enter and report test results in lab systems Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine instrument maintenance Maintain clean, organized, and compliant workspaces Follow all safety protocols and proper PPE requirements Support training and development of other lab team members as needed Assist with additional lab duties as assigned What We're Looking For Education & Experience Coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or related field; OR Associate degree, vocational science degree, or equivalent experience 2-3 years of laboratory experience preferred Experience performing tests typically handled by a Laboratory Technician I Technical Skills Experience with analytical instrumentation such as: ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma)
HPLC / UPLC
Gas Chromatography (DGA and PCB) Ability to troubleshoot instruments and perform routine maintenance Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and data entry systems Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting deadlines Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to support others High level of integrity and accountability Work Environment Laboratory setting within an industrial/manufacturing environment Exposure to typical lab conditions including dust, fumes, and noise PPE required (non-cleanroom environment) Occasional handling of regulated or hazardous materials Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday Ability to sit or work at a workstation for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Ability to work a regular 8-hour shift (5 days/week) Flexibility to work overtime during peak demand Regular use of vision, hearing, and verbal communication Why Join Us?
