  • 25/hour (based on experience and training progress) About Us International Canine Semen Bank (ICSB) is currently a specialty veterinary practice focused exclusively on canine reproductive and breeding services.
We're a global leader in canine reproductive technology. Founded in 1971, ICSB developed many of the methods and standards used today for semen freezing, storage, and artificial insemination in dogs. Our Oregon lab provides semen collection, analysis, cryopreservation, progesterone testing, vaginal and transcervical insemination (TCI) services. Position Overview We're seeking a Lab Technician to join our reproductive services team. We're looking for someone who enjoys detailed, structured work and maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can adapt quickly as priorities evolve, and communicates effectively while balancing meticulous work with the ability to see the bigger picture. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks in a dynamic setting, including busy periods during shows and events. ⚠ Weekend availability is essential. This role requires travel to regional dog shows 2-4 weekends per month (mostly Pacific Northwest) and participation in a rotating on-call weekend schedule . Responsibilities Perform manual canine semen collection, evaluation, and freezing for cryogenic storage Conduct progesterone testing , vaginal and transcervical inseminations (TCI) Maintain lab equipment, prepare samples, and document data accurately Keep lab and clinical areas clean and organized Once proficient: support client communication , invoicing, and shipping/receiving of biological materials and products Travel to out-of-town dog shows (company vehicle provided) Participate in rotating on-call weekends for time-sensitive lab work Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in biology, animal science, or laboratory work Driver's license and competency with larger vehicles Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures Comfortable handling dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments Dependable, professional, flexible, and team-oriented Competent with Microsoft Office and basic computer recordkeeping Willingness and ability to travel and work weekends regularly Benefits Paid vacation and sick days Optional medical insurance IRA retirement plan Paid gym membership This position offers specialized, hands-on experience in applied reproductive science within a small, collaborative team. Training is provided for all lab procedures, including progesterone testing and TCI. Due to the specialized nature of our services, training is progressive and continues over approximately one year.
