The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and techniques, with a focus on delivering accurate diagnostic results to support patient care. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests, assist in specimen collection and processing, and collaborate closely with medical professionals to ensure the highest standards of laboratory accuracy and safety. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient health outcomes through precise laboratory work and exceptional service. Duties Conduct a wide range of laboratory procedures utilizing established protocols and techniques to analyze biological specimens. Collect, process, and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, or tissue samples for testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling. Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Measure vital signs and assist with patient care activities as needed within the laboratory setting. Maintain strict aseptic techniques during specimen collection and processing to prevent contamination. Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are functioning correctly and maintained according to safety standards. Document test results accurately in laboratory information systems and communicate findings to healthcare providers promptly. Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control practices, to protect patients, staff, and the integrity of specimens. Requirements Proven experience in clinical laboratory settings with knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood sampling methods such as venipuncture. Proficiency in specimen collection, processing, and handling of biological samples. Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality control processes, and aseptic techniques. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow complex instructions accurately. Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members. Certification or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory depending on regional regulations.
