Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Laboratory Assistant, under the direction of the Market Director of Laboratory Services and Laboratory Manager, you will assist in specimen collection, receiving, processing, and distribution of specimens. Every day, you will perform clerical duties, receptionist duties, process specimens for Reference laboratory sendouts, perform initial plating of specimens in Microbiology, and monitor tube stations and distribution of samples. This involves meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict protocols, and efficient handling of a high volume of samples to ensure the accurate and timely flow of laboratory diagnostic information. To be successful in your role, you will meticulously assist in various laboratory functions, including specimen collection, receiving, processing, and distribution, while performing essential clerical and receptionist duties. You will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strict adherence to protocols, and efficient handling of specimens for sendouts and initial plating, thereby contributing to the accurate and timely flow of diagnostic information under the guidance of the Market Director and Laboratory Manager.
You will:
Process, organize, and quickly move samples for testing; handle all lab send-out testing including packaging. Practice positive patient identification; demonstrate HumanKindness and good communication skills. Take responsibility for workflow and foster collaboration. Perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups, following collection procedures. May assist with training. Perform CLIA waived and moderately complex testing, evaluating results under direction. Perform routine maintenance, monitor inventory, stock supplies, and manage records.

within 90 days Preferred Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy certification Six months acute care experience
