Job Description

Lab Technician (Temporary) Allentown, PA | $19.00/hour | Temporary Contract (3-6 Months) Join a Global Leader in Food Safety & Public Health At Merieux NutriSciences, our mission is simple but impactful: making food systems safer, healthier, and more sustainable. What You'll Do As a Lab Technician, you'll play a key role in preparing and processing samples for microbiological testing.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing samples for laboratory analysis by recording, weighing, and blending Labeling plates and tracking samples accurately Pipetting samples into testing tubes and plates Preparing agar, media, and broth for testing procedures Incubating and monitoring samples according to testing requirements Reading plates and documenting results Setting up laboratory equipment and materials Maintaining accurate records within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Following quality assurance and safety procedures Keeping laboratory workspaces clean, organized, and sanitized Supporting continuous improvement and laboratory operations
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of relevant work experience Basic science knowledge and interest in laboratory work Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills Strong time management and prioritization abilities Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Manual dexterity for handling samples and laboratory equipment Ability to distinguish slight variations in color Comfortable working around laboratory chemicals, materials, and equipment while following safety protocols
Schedule & Compensation Pay:
$19.00 per hour
Regular Schedule:
4 days per week 10-hour shifts One scheduled day must be
Saturday Start Time:
12:00
PM End Time:
When all daily samples have been processed
Overtime Available:
Approximately 3-5 hours per week Paid at time-and-a-half Training Schedule (First Month): Tuesday-Friday 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM Why Join Merieux NutriSciences?
