Position Summary The Laboratory Associate is an entry-level laboratory professional responsible for executing validated test methods in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards established by the AATB, FDA, TGA, and USP. This role provides critical support to laboratory operations, including testing, documentation, sample management, and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing in accordance with laboratory operating procedures, work instructions, current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Execute testing within required sample hold times and maintain testing proficiency and certifications. Enter data, generate labels, and track samples within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Receive and reconcile samples while maintaining accurate chain-of-custody documentation. Support Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams by providing documentation for validation activities and special projects. Monitor laboratory supply inventory and ensure adequate stock levels for daily operations. Perform monthly calibrations of laboratory equipment, including micropipettes and thermometers. Identify, correct, and document data entry and paperwork discrepancies. Maintain validation documentation and provide records to Quality Assurance and Research & Development teams. Conduct daily equipment checks for ovens, incubators, hoods, shakers, and thermometers, documenting results in equipment logbooks. Perform microbiological, physical, analytical, and laboratory assays as assigned. Review testing data and sample throughput on a daily basis. Perform additional duties as assigned and trained. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required. Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in an academic setting. Valid driver's license required. Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
