Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician accurately registers and processes incoming samples, maintains organized records for daily work and quality control, and supports regulatory documentation. This role enters sample data into laboratory systems in a timely and precise manner and learns to operate dairy testing instruments to generate and validate reliable test results. Responsibilities Register incoming laboratory samples and assign appropriate identifiers. Maintain neat, accurate, and up-to-date records of all work performed on a daily basis. Document test activities as needed for quality control and regulatory purposes. Enter sample and test data into laboratory systems promptly and accurately. Learn to operate dairy testing instruments efficiently and follow established procedures. Validate test results to ensure accuracy and reliability before reporting. Follow laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures for all testing activities. Support general laboratory operations, including maintaining an organized and clean work area. Essential Skills 0-3 years of experience working in a laboratory or related environment. High school diploma. Foundational knowledge of biology. Foundational knowledge of microbiology. Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer systems. Strong attention to detail for recordkeeping and quality control documentation. Ability to learn and operate dairy testing instruments and related laboratory equipment. Capability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred associate or bachelor's degree in microbiology or biology. College degree preferred in a scientific or related field. Experience working in a laboratory setting is beneficial. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple samples and records. Ability to maintain consistent work history and long-term commitment to the role. Work Environment This position is based in a laboratory environment and requires working the 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. shift, Sunday through Thursday. The role involves handling and processing dairy samples, operating specialized testing instruments, and using computer systems for data entry and recordkeeping. The lab setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality procedures while working on-site within a reasonable commuting distance of the Lancaster area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
