Job Description

Rabkin Dermatopathology Lab (RDL) continues to experience unprecedented growth. As a CAP accredited lab and one of the only physician owned labs in Pennsylvania, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grossing Tech-Lab Assistant to support our team in accurately and efficiently processing dermatopathology specimens. This dual-role position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate specimen handling. Our laboratory team strives for excellence through its expertise in dermatopathology and patient care with a proven team of dermatopathologists and experienced technologists and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in science with an Associates degree in a chemical or biological science
  • OR•at least 60 semester hours that includes either (1) 24 hours of medical lab technology courses or (2) 24 hours of science courses with 6 semester hours of biology and chemistry or 12 hours of chemistry, biology or medical lab tech in any combination.
Duties:
  • Accurately accession all in-coming specimens into the lab information system.
  • Assist in the preparation of surgical specimens specimens for analysis.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through accurate labeling and documentation, print slides and cassettes.
  • Gross specimens and record the gross description in the LIS while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Embed, cut, stain, and cover-slip tissue samples.
  • Maintain accurate records of specimen data and results
  • Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff for specimen handling This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
