We're seeking a motivated Lab Analyst II to support trace metals analysis in our environmental laboratory located in Reading, PA. This is an exciting opportunity for a laboratory professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys hands-on analytical testing, laboratory instrumentation, and producing accurate, high-quality data in support of environmental compliance and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and motivated by supporting daily laboratory operations, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within a collaborative team environment. What You'll Do Perform sample preparation, trace metals analysis, and QA/QC testing in accordance with EPA methods, SOPs, and regulatory standards Review, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS and escalate discrepancies or abnormal findings as needed Perform analytical calculations and assist with preparation of laboratory reports and documentation Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ICP and/or ICP-MS instrumentation and laboratory equipment Support QA/QC programs, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated laboratory environment Collaborate with laboratory staff to meet turnaround times and operational demands Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline 2+ years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience, including sample digestion, titration, and mercury analysis, with proficiency in at least one area required Demonstrated experience with ICP and/or ICP-MS instrumentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and LIMS systems Work Schedule Full-time, on-site position following a Monday - Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5:30 PM Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
