Laboratory Technician at Certigen Laboratory llc., you will be a key contributor to our processing team. You will perform molecular laboratory and lcms testing that helps serve professionals in a clinical diagnostic setting. Schedule This is a full time (40 hr/wk) flexible day shift position with hours Monday-Friday. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position. Adherence to attendance-related policies and expectations is critical to this position. Flexible scheduling M-F, partial remote work. What can you expect? You Can Expect To Specialize In The Following Areas You will be using laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests aimed to help specialists to diagnose clinical infections and proper treatment of pain management. You will be responsible for setting and running laboratory molecular tests and lcms reading the results per laboratory's SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Samples homogenization Total nucleic acid extractions from a variety of sample types Molecular testing via real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Use analyzer and other molecular diagnostic methods to detect the molecular presence of pathogens Preparing specimens to be ran on Shimadzu LCMS, analyze data, maintain instrumentation and prepare solutions. What do you need to succeed? Education Minimum 2 year associates degree in laboratory science or related field. 4-year degree in Science-related field preferred, or current coursework. MT (ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) a plus! Experience 2-5 years LCMS experience preferred. Required Skills And Abilities Excellent computer skills required. Micro-pipetting skills. Nucleic acids extractions from several specimens' types. Ability to set up high-throughput molecular reactions, specifically PCR (Polymerase Chain reaction) reactions. Analytical thinking while operating lab instruments and when reading the test's results. General science background. Attention to detail. Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Communication skills, both verbal and written. Positive, can-do attitude. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as appropriate. Physical Demands Extensive sitting, phone and computer use. Capable of standing continuously for up to 2 hours. Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to communicate verbally on phone and in person. Fluency in the English language. Extended hours may be required . Work Environment Laboratory environment with potential biohazards present.
