Job Description

Miwon Specialty Chemical Company, USA is seeking a proactive and dependable QC Laboratory Technician who is committed to providing excellent production and customer support. The QC Laboratory Technician plays a key role in ensuring timely and reliable analysis of raw materials and finished goods used and produced at our site. This position will be housed in Miwon's 65,000-square-foot production facility located in Columbia, S.C. and will work closely with the production, engineering, and customer service departments. Summary/Objective The QC Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing effective and detailed analysis of raw materials and finished polymers made on-site. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, quick learner with strong professional communication skills. Someone who is willing to go beyond standard responsibilities to support customers and the ability to work closely with both office and plant staff to keep operations running smoothly. Essential Functions Work safely in laboratory and production environments. Follow standard operating procedures when performing chemical analyses of raw materials and finished products. Compile, interpret, and record analysis results in a laboratory notebook. Document results in a Microsoft Excel database and in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Perform routine instrument verifications, calibrations, and preparation of chemical solutions used for testing. Assist with incoming raw material sampling and managing retains of finished products. Assist with additional tasks or projects as business needs evolve. What We're Looking For Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems, tools, and processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal Customer-focused mindset with a solutions-oriented approach Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Commitment to going above and beyond to ensure success Comfortable working in both laboratory and plant settings Required Education and Experience Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field required. A bachelor's degree in chemistry is preferred. 2 - 4 years of laboratory experience in a quality control, manufacturing, chemical, materials, or industrial environment preferred. High computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Experience using laboratory instruments and performing routine calibrations and verifications. Experience with ERP systems and electronic data entry. Experience with raw material testing, finished product testing, and quality control processes. Experience following written procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Experience accurately documenting test results and maintaining laboratory records. Ability to perform detailed analytical work with a high degree of accuracy. Work Environment & Physical Demands This role primarily operates in a professional laboratory setting with regular use of analytical equipment such as viscometers, HPLC and GPC instruments, and color measurement devices. A typical day will be split between performing chemical analyses in the laboratory and entering data at an office desk, so expected conditions are long periods of time both standing and seated. The role also requires periodic access to the manufacturing plant, including adherence to all safety protocols and required personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent walking, standing, and navigating multiple flights of stairs, safely moving throughout the plant and surrounding facility, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds, and performing activities such as bending, pushing, and pulling.
