Description:
The intern will assist the Non-Metals TX-56 group in establishing "best practice" guidelines for sample preparation, maintenance, and analysis results for various equipment (Scanning Electron Microscope, X-Ray, etc.). The intern will document the capabilities and limitations of the current equipment as well as research recommendations for future purchases. The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions: Assist the Non-Metals TX-56 group interview customers for analysis needs. Perform sample preparation for future analysis. Conduct analysis using lab equipment. Document results, including recommendations based on conversations with the customer. Research, evaluate, and document equipment capabilities, limitations, and costs. Create "best practice" guidelines for sample preparation, maintenance topics, and analysis results based on current lab equipment. Merge measurement analysis with non-destructive equipment results (X-Ray and CT Scan). Provide long-term business case strategy for future replacement financial planning. Work with ADM (Laboratory report documenting system). Utilize PQM (Problem Solving Quality Management system).Qualifications:
Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or similar degree. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major) Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application. Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week). Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.THE WORK TERM DATES ARE
