Job Description
American Colors, Inc. is a customer-focused manufacturer of liquid colorants and specialty chemicals serving marketings including paints & coatings, adhesives, composites, films, personal care, and agriculture. Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio, we are committed to delivering high-quality, consistent products that meet our customers' standards. Our lab uses specialized equipment and hands-on testing to evaluate in-process batches and ensure compliance with customer standards. The Quality Manager leads daily lab operations, including supervising technicians, managing testing priorities, and overseeing equipment calibration and certification. This role partners with manufacturing and customers to resolve issues, maintain product quality, and support uninterrupted production. The position reports to the Lab Manager and Vice President of Composites. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily lab operations, scheduling, and technician performance Maintain lab organization, housekeeping, and supply inventory Ensure all testing follows
ISO 9001
procedures Troubleshoot QC and production issues; support corrective actions Investigate customer complaints and resolve product concerns Perform advanced color corrections and batch adjustments Manage equipment calibration and QC data in Unipoint Generate Certificates of Analysis and maintain quality records Develop and update product specifications and standards Handle non-conforming materials, including root cause analysis and disposition Train and mentor lab technicians; manage scheduling and payroll approvals Create inspection orders and ISO work instructions for new products Collaborate with key customers on standards and quality expectations Use data to track performance and drive continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field (chemistry, technical, or quality) Relevant QC or industry experience preferred Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills Proficient in math, communication, and computer systems Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused Benefits Health, vision, dental insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match ESOP - Employee Stock Ownership Plan Profit-sharing bonus program Paid vacation and sick time Tuition reimbursement for continued educationJob Type:
