JOB SUMMARY
The Anatomic Pathology Lab Assistant manages the transfer of archived specimen material between various PathGroup departments, facilities, and outside vendors. They will assist with special projects around anatomic pathology specimens and workflow.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Retrieve archived pathology material for submission to pathologists, PathGroup departments/ facilities, and outside facilities. Package pathology material and create manifests for send out. Maintain appropriate records and manifests of pathology material received from or sent to various PathGroup departments, facilities, and outside vendors. Scan slides using digital pathology scanners for pathologist review of images. Work on special projects as directed. Assist with anatomic pathology operational tasks as directed. Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals. Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data. Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.
Requirements:
EDUCATION & LICENSURE
High School Diploma or GED is required. Post high school education is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one year of previous health care environment job-related experience is preferred.
