Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Degreed Laboratory Technician. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are trainable, has practical experience, or technical training in a laboratory setting. The technician will support laboratory operations, perform routine tests, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing:
Assist in performing routine laboratory tests based on established procedures and protocols.
Data Collection & Analysis:
Record test results accurately and maintain clear, detailed logs. Ensure that data is easily accessible for review and analysis. Rerun Out-of-Spec tests. Report Out-of-Spec results to the Senior Chemist and then production.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure laboratory equipment is in proper working order. Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Samples:
Receive and handle lab samples, reagents, chemicals, and materials according to the specifications and safety standards.
Inventory Management:
Assist in managing laboratory inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring that reagents, chemicals, and materials are stored correctly.
Cleaning & Organizing:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory. Clean glassware and equipment and ensure the work area is properly maintained.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work with Senior Chemist, Lab Techs, and Production to complete the testing and report the results. Communicate results effectively to Senior Chemist first and then production.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all procedures, tests, and results. Assist in preparing the results and any other data for review if necessary.
Quality Management:
Assist with Quality Management by documenting issues, helping with resolutions, and entering information in the QMS software. Other Duties as
Assigned:
Perform additional clerical tasks such as filing, paperwork, etc. as needed by the Production Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. No formal science degree is necessary, though relevant coursework is beneficial.
Experience:
Prior laboratory experience or technical training in a laboratory or industrial setting is preferred.
Skills:
o Ability to read, learn, and understand laboratory procedures. o Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions from Senior Chemist. o Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures is preferred. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, Microsoft Office, Excel). o Good organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Comfortable standing or sitting for long periods and handling various laboratory tasks requiring dexterity and attention.
Work Environment:
The position is based in a laboratory environment, and the Lab Tech will work with various chemicals and laboratory equipment. Safety precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
Additional Information:
Training:
On-the-job training will be provided to ensure the lab technician is familiar with laboratory protocols, equipment, and safety procedures.
