Job Description

Great opportunity for college students looking to build their resume and gain beneficial laboratory skills. A growing laboratory in Carrollton is now hiring for a sample prep technician! This is an entry level position and training takes about a week to complete.- training is paid. At the end of our training program the trainee will be proficient at following a standard operating procedure for preparing various types of building material in a biological safety hood, while utilizing strict quality control procedures. A typical work day will include sitting for several hours at a time at a biological safety hood and transferring samples from customer projects on to microscope slides, checking paperwork for completeness and entering data in the Laboratory Management System. Please note we are an environmental laboratory, and not a medical or clinical lab. Duties include but are not limited to : Prepare samples for analysis Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Follow all procedures outline in our Quality Manual Maintain a clean work environment Light housekeeping duties, such as sweeping work station and or taking out trash at the end of the shift. Shifts are approx. four hours long and can be flexible around a student's class schedule.
Qualifications:
High School diploma at a minimum Familiarity with common laboratory terminology will be helpful The right candidate must have a positive attitude, is self motivated and has a strong attention to detail.
