Imperative Chemical Partners has an immediate opening for a Lab Technician within our Product Line group in our Hempstead, Texas location. If you are interested in joining a growing company with a proven track record of success, this is your opportunity! SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to support our product development and performance validation efforts. This role will be critical in executing testing protocols for both existing products and new product development initiatives. The Laboratory Technician will perform a variety of laboratory tests, maintain data integrity, and support cross-functional teams by delivering reliable and timely results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct standardized and custom performance tests on chemical products, including but not limited to corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and surfactants.
Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate product performance, compatibility, stability, and treat-rate effectiveness.
Prepare chemical solutions, test fluids, and synthetic brines following established SOPs.
Utilize analytical and wet chemistry techniques such as titration, pH measurement, viscosity testing, and thermal analysis.
Perform product characterization using instrumental methods including FTIR spectroscopy.
Collect, analyze, and document experimental data; generate technical reports and summaries for customer reporting and internal product evaluation.
Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure proper calibration, and manage chemical inventory.
Follow HSE, QA/QC, and laboratory safety protocols at all times.
Responsible for performing job duties in compliance with RCRA hazardous waste requirements, including proper handling, labeling, storage, and management of hazardous waste in accordance with applicable procedures and training. REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION Associates degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline. QUALIFICATIONS
Effective communication skills and the ability to document and present technical information clearly.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools.
Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with Company policy.
Must be able to operate torque wrenches and hand tools required for high-pressure test apparatus assembly. EXPERIENCE 1-2
years experience within an oilfield chemical or industrial laboratory environment.
Working experience or strong academic background in wet chemistry, analytical techniques, or performance testing of chemical formulations. PREFERRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION Bachelors degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline. QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge of oilfield production chemistry (scale, corrosion, paraffin/asphaltene). EXPERIENCE 3-5
years experience within an oilfield chemical or industrial laboratory environment.
Hands-on experience with bench-scale chemical testing or laboratory analytical work, including manual torquing of fittings and closures to specified values.
