Full Job Description Laboratory Research Specialist Location:
Lubbock, TX About NemaLife NemaLife is a bio-intelligence platform company redefining the evidence layer for the nutraceutical and consumer product industry. We combine proprietary microfluidics, AI-powered imaging, and C. elegans biology to deliver high-throughput, mechanism-aware validation of bioactives across multiple health domains — giving ingredient suppliers and consumer health brands the biological evidence they need to develop, differentiate, and defend their products. Our partners include global ingredient suppliers and consumer brands building the next generation of clinically credible, human-relevant, and ethically sourced products. We are growing and looking for scientists who want to work at the frontier of biology, health ingredient intelligence and consumer products.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage client and internal projects in the Discovery Lab, performing screening workflow tasks. Perform lab maintenance tasks, including microbial and nematode strain bank maintenance and buffer preparation. Prepare drugs for assays, conduct solubility, stability, and chip compatibility assays, and develop new procedures as needed. Maintain quality control and assurance, including instrument calibration and reagent and sample monitoring. Collect, analyze, and interpret performance data, delivering technical presentations and reports. Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines, and assist in updating SOPs. Assist in assay development and conduct experiments using novel methodologies. Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and contribute to publications, grants, or presentations. Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring safety, service integrity, and quality control. Participate in team meetings and regular communications, providing feedback to colleagues and leadership.
Desired Skills:
Experience in a laboratory setting, preferably as a research laboratory technician or laboratory scientist. Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and safety protocols. Ability and willingness to develop new skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Highly motivated and target-driven. Good communication skills. Experience with C. elegans , microbial culture, brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, cell culture, protein expression and extraction, microfluidics, lab automation systems, molecular techniques, or biostatistics is a plus.
