This role is responsible for performing laboratory testing, maintaining accurate results, supporting specimen processing, and ensuring compliance with all laboratory policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining a strong patient-centered focus. This position plays a critical role in supporting both patient care and operational efficiency throughout the facility. Perform laboratory patient testing and accurately report results in accordance with laboratory procedures and policies Properly identify patients and label specimens according to departmental protocols Collect and process patient specimens while ensuring proper use of patient identifiers Prepare and package specimens for send-out testing to reference laboratories Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements Run and document laboratory controls according to quality control procedures Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments Maintain laboratory supply inventory and coordinate restocking as needed Support a patient-centered environment by maintaining positive communication with patients, visitors, and staff Maintain organization, accuracy, and accountability across all laboratory operations Ensure all documentation and records remain inspection-ready and compliant What Success Looks Like :
Maintains accuracy and efficiency in daily laboratory operations Demonstrates strong attention to detail and compliance with laboratory standards Successfully manages specimen handling, testing, and reporting processes Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies without operational disruption Supports a collaborative and patient-focused healthcare environment Quickly adapts to operational needs within a fast-paced ER setting Qualifications :
Associate degree in Laboratory Science required Laboratory Medical Technician (LMT/MLT) certification strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology preferred ASCP Certification or equivalent preferred Minimum of 1 year of hospital laboratory experience preferred Experience working in an Emergency Room (ER), hospital, or high-acuity healthcare environment preferred Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements required Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while maintaining efficiency and accuracy Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Current driver's license with no restrictions required Flexibility to meet departmental scheduling needs required What We Are Looking For:
