Job Summary Responsible for assigned activities in the research laboratory under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator or the designee of P.I. Duties include performing experiments in the area of cell and molecular biology relating to lung injury and cardiovascular/metabolic disease development. The research associate should have experience in the handling of small animals and basic cell biology assays. Documentation of experimental data in timely fashion, and inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies are required. Other related duties as assigned. Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks Investigation of the molecular and cellular players that contribute to lung, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. Work with small animals in the preparation and analysis of lung, cardiovascular, and metabolic disease development using genetically modified mouse models. General laboratory skills—Cell cultures, RNA Isolation and PCR, Western blot, plasmid extraction, cell transfections, enzyme assays, etc. Order and maintain supplies, equipment maintenance, and general upkeep of the laboratory. Conduct or assist in experiments related to ongoing research projects under PI's supervision. Required Education/Experience Master's degree Required.
