6 Months + Contract, Long term Start date: ASAP Pay rate: $18.00
  • $22.00/hr DOE Work week: Monday
  • Friday, day shift 7:00am
  • 4:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct routine sample preparation and analyses procedures on a variety of sample matrices. Prepare quality control samples such as round robin samples, analytical standards, duplicates and spikes. Participate in Method Development, validations, and certification activities. Participate in the quality control and assurance programs of the Central Laboratory, by assisting in proficiency testing, routine audits, trouble shooting, and continuous process improvements. Laboratory analyses utilized are classical and instrumental (ICP-OES and
ICP-MS, XRF, DC
Arc, ion analyzers, automated titration and LECO analyzers). Perform volumetric measurements utilizing laboratory balances, auto-titrators, pipettes, etc. Utilize analytical methods, standard operating procedures, and laboratory data systems to ensure data integrity, compliance, and good laboratory practices.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and/or Material Science is preferred, but not required 0-3+ years of Lab experience. Must be open to working out in the elements. Will be going out into mine digging and collecting soil, minerals, rock samples. Knowledge or familiarity of the principles and methods used in chemical, laboratory and quality assurance analysis. Skilled in use of computer operations including Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn laboratory specific protocols including custom software and LIMS programs. Neat legible record keeping, a safe-work attitude and proficient writing and computer skills are mandatory attributes. Self-motivated to learn new techniques and instrumentation and able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge and experience with Lean 5's concepts is a plus Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience in mineral processing and/or mineralogy analytical work a plus
ISO 9000
experience a plus. Laboratory Information Management System implementation experience a plus.
