Laboratory Technician

Position Overview:

Under general supervision of a Principal Scientist, the Lab Technician will assist in general laboratory functions of the R&D lab supporting the biomanufacturing of healthy sugars: tagatose and allulose.

What will you do:

E. coli fermentation for recombinant enzyme expression Purify enzymes by various techniques. Characterize enzymes for purity, activity, stability, and other properties. Day-to-day lab functions like equipment calibration, lab cleanliness and organization, buffer, and media preparation.

What you will need:

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant discipline. Meticulous lab notebook practice. Understanding laboratory safety and hygiene. Excellent organization and time management for performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to solve problems and trouble-shoot. A desire to contribute to cutting edge work in the field of nutrition and biotechnology.

Work Environment:

Responsibilities will primarily be carried out in a Biosafety Level 1 laboratory with extended periods of standing, and occasional heavy lifting (30+ lbs).

Salary:

From $45,000-55,000 per year Based on experience Relocation is not available for this role, local candidates preferred. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship currently.
