How you'll contribute A Student, Polysomnographic who excels in this role: Under direct supervision of a registered polysomnographic tech: Educates the patient and family about procedures and monitors patient electronically and via video for any unusual sleep behaviors. Records observations of patient throughout the sleep session at specific time intervals and as appropriate. Scores polysomnography recordings and sends to the physician for interpretation. Maintains and operates all sleep lab equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests sleep lab equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages including pediatric through geriatric. Additional requirements include:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Sleep Lab experience, preferred Completion of a sleep lab training program, preferred Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
