Full-Time, Non-exempt Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our fast-growing drug testing laboratory. This position supports daily laboratory operations by receiving and processing specimens, preparing samples for testing, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general laboratory workflow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in healthcare or laboratory work. Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided. ⸻ Primary Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) Receive and inspect incoming specimens to ensure proper labeling and documentation Accession patient samples into the laboratory information system (LIMS) Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, labeling, centrifugation, and storage Maintain proper chain of custody procedures for all drug testing specimens Assist in preparing samples for toxicology testing procedures Organize and store specimens according to laboratory protocols Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy Maintain laboratory cleanliness and assist with routine workspace organization Monitor laboratory supplies and report low inventory when necessary Follow all laboratory safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Assist with packaging and disposal of specimens according to company policy Communicate with laboratory staff regarding specimen issues or workflow concerns Support daily operational workflow to ensure timely turnaround of test results ⸻ Qualifications Required Minimal education: high school diploma. Bachelor degree is preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully Basic computer and data entry skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good organizational skills and strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and punctuality Good communication skills Preferred (Not Required) Bachelor degree Previous laboratory, medical office, healthcare, or specimen handling experience Experience working with biological samples Familiarity with chain of custody procedures Experience in drug testing, clinical laboratory, or diagnostic laboratory environments Customer service experience ⸻ Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during work shifts Ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs ⸻ What We Offer Competitive pay On-the-job training provided Opportunities for career growth within the laboratory Supportive team environment Paid holidays and benefits package ⸻ We are looking for dependable individuals who take pride in accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork.
