JOB DESCRIPTION
Medical Technologist (MT)
Pay Range:
$36.94 per hour
  • $56.
51 per hour Will work within the goals and objectives established by the departmental management team in harmony with the guidelines and policies of the hospital to provide accurate, timely, cost effective, and efficient testing of patient specimen samples.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent status.
EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and skills related to laboratory computer information systems is desirable. Knowledge of laboratory expertise in multiple departments and to demonstrate ability to coordinate multiple tasks with precision and flexibility to provide accurate results within the minimum turnaround time established for the laboratory. Ability to perform complex analyses, has basic working knowledge of techniques, principles, instruments, and their interrelationships. Ability to recognize problems, identifies cause, create alternatives and determine solutions. Ability to work with minimum supervision, and ability to supervise the work of others when required. Skilled in interpersonal communications and ability to relate well to the public, pathologists, physicians, and hospital employees at all levels.
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS
Board registered with one of the national registries associated with laboratory practice (ASCP, NCA, NRCC, AAM, etc.) within one year of hire. Maintains state Healthcare Assistant license preferred. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Pay Range:
$30.27 per hour
  • $44.
70 per hour Will work within the goals and objectives established by the departmental management team in harmony with the guidelines and policies of the hospital to provide accurate, timely, cost effective, and efficient testing of patient specimen samples. Will demonstrate knowledge of clinical laboratory testing procedures and conduct testing in accordance with the standards of accrediting agencies, ethical practices of the hospital, and prudent practices of safety and infection control.
EDUCATION
Associates degree, graduate of an accredited program for MLT or equivalent status.

Knowledge and skills related to laboratory computer information systems is desirable. Knowledge of laboratory expertise in multiple departments and to demonstrate ability to coordinate multiple tasks with precision and flexibility to provide accurate results within the minimum turnaround time established for the laboratory.
