Job Description

SWA is seeking a Lab Analyst I in Vancouver, WA 98660!
Pay Up To:
$25.00
Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday/8:00am-4:30pm (weekend rotation as needed)
Consideration Requirements:
Must pass a background check, drug screening, and DMV driving record review! Associate's or bachelor's degree in a science field Experience analyzing environmental samples Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory data management systems Valid state driver's license Familiarity with biological and chemical wastewater testing methodologies Understanding of industrial waste impacts and treatment challenges in municipal wastewater systems Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, equipment care, and maintenance Strong ability to follow safe work practices and regulatory standards Ability to work effectively in a team-based organization required
Daily Duties:
Analyze wastewater samples for Total Suspended Solids, Fecal Coliform, Ammonia, pH, Biochemical Oxygen Demand and a variety of other tests Analyze solid samples for %TS and %VS Collect air samples for analysis Use microscope to properly identify bacteria in wastewater samples Maintain laboratory equipment including incubators, autoclaves, dissolved oxygen probes, pH probes, analytical balances, etc Collect wastewater treatment samples Proper sample handling, including chain of custody procedures Create accurate sample fractions from parent samples Receive and log chemicals and other supplies Proper laboratory documentation Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures Cross train as needed to provide support with industrial sampling Follow laboratory and field work safety protocol and using necessary PPE at all times Proper disposal of environmental samples Accurate data entry in LIMS Data validation Serve as backup for industrial pretreatment sampling program Maintain a positive attitude and contributing to a team environment Perform additional duties as required
