Madison, WI Job Details Part-time $21 - $26 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Laboratory procedures Teamwork Attention to detail Organizational skills Data collection Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Laboratory Technician specializing in Plant Tissue Culture to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will support the cultivation, propagation, and maintenance of plant tissues in a controlled laboratory environment. Your contributions will be vital to advancing our scientific research and development projects related to plant biotechnology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in laboratory procedures, scientific analysis, and plant tissue culture techniques while working within a collaborative and innovative setting. Duties Maintain aseptic conditions during tissue culture procedures to prevent contamination. Propagate plant tissues through micropropagation techniques such as callus induction, shoot proliferation, and root development. Monitor and document growth stages, health status, and experimental outcomes of cultured tissues. Support research & development activities by performing routine laboratory techniques, including microscopy, histology, molecular biology assays, and microbiology tests. Qualifications Previous experience working in an industrial or clinical laboratory setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to plant tissue culture and sterile techniques. Strong analysis skills with attention to detail in data collection and documentation. Understanding of microbiology, PCR, and molecular biology is advantageous. Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining high standards of quality control. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and data interpretation. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
