Research Technologist I
Under general supervision provide support for department research through projects, maintenance, and communication of data. This position will be split between MFRC 5 and Pediatric Pathology on a day-to-day basis. PrimaryResponsibilities for Flow Core/MFRC 5 work: Operate specializedsterilizationequipmentto ensure consistent,safe,and efficient functionality Support multiple labs bysterilizinglab glassware, plasticware and instruments using institutional equipment Handle and dispose of hazardous wastein accordance withsafety protocols andmaintainaccuraterecordsof disposal Support daily operations of the Flow Cytometry Core to ensure uninterrupted serviceby preparing buffer solutions, media, and sheath fluids. Assistin any health or safety emergencies Read, understand, and implement various safety protocols to ensure safe operations throughout the floor Monitorinventory andcarry out assigned duties for ordering andmaintainingsupply of inventories. Other duties as assignedto support researchprogram needs. Responsible for assisting faculty and lab staff with day-to-day operations in the Pediatric Pathology labs Pick up mail from mailroom Coordinate getting broken shared equipment serviced and help investigate and order new pieces of shared equipment Manage and monitor the Pediatric Pathology research freezer alarm system Maintain the liquid nitrogen dewar filling schedule Responsible for working with the controller's office on the bi-annual capital equipment inventory Twice a year ethanol inventory Other duties as assignedto support researchprogram needs.
