Germination Lab Assistant

Join the team at J.W. Jung Seed Company , an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. With six garden centers across Wisconsin, Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants, and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Germination Lab Assistant to support our Germination Lab with accurate seed quality testing by maintaining laboratory materials, cleanliness, and organization while following established procedures.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm

What You'll Do:

• Monitor seed inventory and maintain accurate records
• Provide seed samples to the germination lab for testing
• Convert seed weights between grams, ounces, and pounds as needed
• Set vegetable and flower seeds for germination testing
• Follow and maintain AOSA Germination standards and procedures
• Refill and maintain chemicals and materials used during germination setup
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Assist with routine cleaning and general laboratory upkeep
• Collaborate with other departments as needed
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of Algebra
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to follow detailed directions and procedures
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to maintain consistency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
