Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Corrections

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our correctional healthcare team. We have full-time positions available, each requiring three 12-hour shifts per week.

Day and night shifts:

Day Shift:

7:00 AM - 7:30

PM Night Shift:

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM As a LPN in this unique setting, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to incarcerated individuals. Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to healthcare processes, policies, and accreditation standards to ensure quality care Take and document patient history, vital signs, and report changes in conditions Administer medications under supervision and as approved by immediate supervisor Assist with venipuncture, I.V. therapy, and collect samples as requested by Provider orders Assist with triage/sick call and minor medical/surgical procedures Transcribe therapeutic orders generated by the Provider Comply with continuing education requirements and NCCHC Standards Assist in evaluating clinical service quality and developing systems for patient care and safety Demonstrate professionalism, promoting a positive work environment Participate in meetings for contract compliance and improvements

Qualifications:

Active LPN license in the state of Alabama. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, in a correctional healthcare setting preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to handle challenging situations with composure. CPR certification.
