Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Progressive Care Unit LPN, sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an important role our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care our hospital's Progressive Care (PCU) Unit, LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety.

Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid vacation, sick time and holidays Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options Employer 401K options Tuition reimbursement options Life, disability, and other insurance options Many other amazing benefits Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Monitor and record vital signs, observe for cardiac distress symptoms, and report telemetry changes to nurses or physicians Administer oral and injectable cardiac medications and monitor for side effects such as hypotension or electrolyte imbalances Assist with pre•and post-op cardiac procedures, prepare patients for diagnostic tests, and support recovery from cardiac events Educate patients on cardiac diets, medications, fluid restrictions, and maintain clear communication with families and care teams Accurately document all patient care activities and observations in the electronic health record system Work under the supervision of other nurses and report directly to them regarding patient care issues Qualifications Education and Training Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
You must have:
Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current IV certification within 30 days and maintain current Additional Qualifications That Are a
