About the
Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the 5-Psych unit plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within 5-PSYCH. This position is responsible for monitoring patients' mental and physical health, administering medications, and assisting in therapeutic activities. The LPN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and well-being. Additionally, the LPN will educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to ensure a safe and supportive environment that fosters patient recovery and enhances their quality of life. •$5K Sign-On Bonus•Minimum Qualifications:
Current LPN license in the state of practice. Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health settings. Certification in Mental Health Nursing. Knowledge of therapeutic communication techniques.Responsibilities:
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider. Monitor and document patients' vital signs, behaviors, and overall health status. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which are essential for monitoring patients' health and identifying any changes that may require intervention. Effective communication skills are vital for educating patients and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive care. The ability to manage time efficiently is crucial, as the LPN will be responsible for multiple patients and tasks throughout the day. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of therapeutic communication techniques, will enhance the LPN's ability to build rapport with patients and facilitate their recovery.
