Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) -
School Health Services Location:

Duration:
3 + Month ( Possibility of Extension) Job Summary Under the direction of an administrator and credentialed school nurse, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct health services to students, including medically fragile children, to support safe school attendance and learning. The LVN may travel between school sites and perform approved nursing procedures under physician orders and district guidelines.
Role & Responsibilities:
Maintain student health records and documentation. Perform specialized procedures (e.g., glucose testing, insulin administration, catheterization, tracheostomy/G-tube care, oxygen therapy, seizure care). Administer medications per physician orders. Monitor vital signs and student health status. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid. Assist with health screenings, immunizations, and care plans (IEP/504). Operate and maintain medical equipment. Communicate updates with school nurse and staff. Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate reporting. Participate in meetings and training sessions.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited LVN program. Minimum 1 year nursing experience required. Experience with medically fragile children preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active California LVN license. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Valid California Driver's License (and insurable). Background check required.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Lift up to 30 lbs regularly; assist up to 100 lbs occasionally. Exposure to communicable diseases. Work in school/classroom environments (indoor/outdoor). Use of medical and computer systems. About our
