Job Description

Title:
Licensed Practical Nurse Location:
Herlong, CA Duration:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, and/or 3, 12-hour shifts.
Shift:
Mon-Fri 6:00 am- 2:30 pm or 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Pay Rate:
$50/hr
License Requirement:
Active California or Nevada License.
Job Description:
Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff. Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure. Administer medications as prescribed, i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly. Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy. Perform skin testing. Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens. Maintain accurate logs for all reports in accordance with the Bureau of Prisons and AAAHC Policy. Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal laboratory values and notify the physician or physicians. Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy. Clinically manage injuries by splinting and immobilizing. Attend to medical emergencies. Work collaboratively with staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning institute, evaluation, and revising program plans. Manages the daily operations of the clinic and conducts daily sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings, and providing clinical evaluations. Assist with all aspects of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program, within the scope of practice of current licensure. Qualification Associat of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an Accredited Nursing School/Program. Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice nursing in California or Nevada. Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association. Minimum of three (3) years of experience Active California or Nevada License required

The LPN/LVN is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms are approved, must be navy blue). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing.
