The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides appropriate care to patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner. She/he assists the patient's care team in implementing the medical plan of care.Essential Functions:
Clinical duties may include, but are not limited to: Assists physicians with patient visits which include: rooming and interviewing patients, taking and recording vital signs to include; height and weight, documenting medications, and entering the information in the patients' electronic medical record (EMR) Prepares and reviews patients' EMR according to standard Pre-Visit Prep work flow. Reviews EMR entries for completeness ensuring all required information is included Scans all pertinent information into the EMR Performs and assists providers with routine and/or specialized clinical procedures Administers ordered medications and vaccines in a safe, accurate, professional and timely manner following policies and procedures Assist in making follow-up appointments and consultation appointments with specialists for patients Performs all other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities Additional Performance Expectations Contributes to the overall patient experience and satisfaction Participates in performance improvement activities Performs all other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities Adheres to HR, safety, HIPAA and compliance policies, and attendance requirements Completes annual health screening and online training modules Performs work in accordance with established schedules, policies and proceduresMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse License One (1) year License Vocational Nurse nursing experience Current CPR Certification Experience working with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner Ability to accurately perform basic math Excellent attention to detail Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist othersSimilar jobs in Mountain View, CA
