Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform treatment plans. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management tailored to individual needs. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, wound suturing, and sterile processing while maintaining aseptic techniques. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions like Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or those requiring memory or hospice care; support patients with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. Manage acute pain cases and participate in emergency response activities including airway management and ventilator support within hospital or ICU settings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education to promote optimal recovery and well-being. Experience Valid LVN license with current state certification required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred. Proven experience working in various healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Critical care experience including ICU or emergency medicine is highly valued; familiarity with Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for diagnostic evaluation and medical records management; proficiency in medical terminology and physiology knowledge is essential. Background working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator care, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Experience performing phlebotomy, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and other laboratory procedures is a plus.
