  • Auburn & Roseville Job Overview Correctional Healthcare Partners (CHP) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team at Placer County Corrections.
The LVN will provide high-quality nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians to ensure safe, effective, and compliant patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow established nursing processes and systems in accordance with company policies, procedures, performance standards, and accreditation requirements Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Director of Nursing (DON), Registered Nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care delivery Utilize all functions and applications of the electronic health record (EHR) relevant to the role with minimal supervision and assist with staff training as needed Communicate effectively with clinical staff, custody personnel, patients, and leadership, maintaining clear communication throughout all issue-resolution processes Provide nursing care in accordance with professional practice standards, applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs; assist with examinations and treatments; and report changes in patient condition promptly Administer medications and document administration accurately in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) within the EHR Perform venipuncture and IV therapy as authorized by supervising clinical staff Collect samples, specimens, and cultures as ordered by the provider Assist with triage, sick call, minor procedures, and transcribe therapeutic orders as directed by providers Initiate and document prescribed protocol treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures Support evaluation of clinical services and assist in developing systems to improve patient care and safety Participate in continuing education requirements and maintain compliance with NCCHC and other applicable standards Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining objectivity, emotional control under pressure, integrity, and a positive work environment Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings as required for contract compliance Escalate critical clinical or operational issues to the appropriate level of management in a timely manner Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program Current, unrestricted LVN license in the State of California Current CPR certification required Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience preferred Correctional healthcare experience strongly preferred Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Ability to perform in a fast-paced, structured, and secure environment Work Environment On-site position within a correctional facility Must be comfortable working in a secure and highly structured healthcare setting
