We have an immediate opening for a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), seeking employment in a fast-paced environment. This position works out of the main office (centrally located in Sacramento, CA). Under the direction of a physician, provides care to patients in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and courteous manner following established policies and protocols. The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
  • Provide telephone-based triage services : Respond to patient calls, address medication inquiries, and communicate lab results with efficiency and professionalism, managing 90% of daily tasks via phone interactions while remaining adaptable to additional assignments as needed (10%).
  • Assess patient needs over the phone, review medical records, and assist with medications, test results, and care as directed by clinicians.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, clinicians, staff, patients, and families to develop care plans and improve health outcomes with a focus on preventive interventions.
  • Document patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and other interventions per legal, regulatory, and protocol standards.
  • Assist with rooming patients, preparing for exams/procedures, emergency care, and injections as needed.
  • Perform duties in a physician's office, including answering phones, taking messages, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, cleaning and restocking rooms, filing, and servicing equipment and instruments.
  • Apply safety principles according to established policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program required.
  • Current, active state vocational nursing license required.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years LVN/Nursing related experience in a high paced clinic setting.
  • Experience using EMR system for scripts and chart notes.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
  • Must possess current state LVN license
  • BLS certification, required
  • ACLS Certification, required

  • Demonstrated ability to handle emergencies competently.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple health professionals in a busy, complex environment using tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong skills in electronic charting and documentation.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Utilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
  • Sit for long periods of time while using computer and telephone
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
Works in both an office setting and in exam rooms where temperatures are comfortable and noise levels are moderate.
