School Nurse / Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Hourly Rate:
$35.00 - $42.00 per hour (depending on skill set and experience)

San Francisco, California; Onsite Position Summary As a School Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care and health support services to medically fragile students within school-based settings throughout the San Francisco area. This role supports students with a variety of complex medical needs while collaborating closely with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment. Opportunities are available for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) seeking full-time schedules, with part-time candidates also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Schedule / Shift Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday-Friday Hours per week: Full-time opportunities available; part-time candidates encouraged to apply Contract length: School-based assignment Key Duties Provide direct nursing care and health support services to medically fragile students Support students requiring ventilator care, tracheostomy care, diabetes management, catheterization, and tube feedings Monitor student health status and respond appropriately to medical needs throughout the school day Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as required by student care plans Collaborate with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student well-being and safety Maintain accurate health documentation and comply with district and nursing standards Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned Support a safe and inclusive educational environment for all students
Requirements Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licenses & Certifications Required:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Required:
CPR Certification Additional certifications: Current Physical within the last year Additional certifications: Current PPD within the last year (Chest X-Ray acceptable if positive) Skills Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required Ability to care for students with complex medical and special healthcare needs Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, diabetes management, catheterization, and tube feedings preferred Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively within a school-based environment Ability to meet fingerprinting and district clearance requirements Benefits Per Diem / Temporary (Hourly) Roles Comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision Company-paid Basic Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability for employees working 30+ hours/week Paid sick leave may be available based on hours worked and state laws Benefit offerings are subject to legal requirements, eligibility status, and work location Employees 21+ can participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan About Us RCM Healthcare Services works with professionals across schools, healthcare, and community-based settings nationwide.
